Blinding Flash of the Obvious – Part 2

Jun, 16 - 2013   no comments   Sell Timeshare Resales

Here is a follow up on a 3 part series of articles written in the WSJ online. This is part 2 of their advice, and my opinion.

Their Part Two is entitled “Find Comparable Timeshares for Sale Online

Here’s a quote from that section followed by my observation on their advice: “A perfect example of this type of price confusion can be seen with the timeshare classified website Sellmytimesharenow. At the time of publish, there are 4,898 timeshare ads on that website alone that are priced higher than $25,000. Many of these same timeshares can also be found with asking prices as low as $1! The popular forum website Timeshare Users Group features more than fifteen pages of “Free” timeshares. Always remember that a buyer will search for the lowest available price, so the lowest price you find should be the primary basis for your timeshare valuation.” Link

While they observe that often a timeshare will be priced as low as $1 and many higher than $25,000 their advice is to price your timeshare at or below the lowest priced timeshare! The lowest priced timeshare?

So their part two, Find Comparable Timeshares for Sale Online, will give you a result as reliable as playing a game of darts with the lights turned off. You will likely hit something, but you may not like the result.

I can’t wait to see their advice on how to request a comparative market analysis from a broker. . . .

Remember all that glitters is not gold.

Just my 2 cents.
