Starwood is building a timeshare resort in the middle of the timeshare part of the company being spun off into its own company.
Starwood Vacation Ownership seems to be in the middle of expanding their timeshare resort holdings in Hawaii. The new construction will be called The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, scheduled to open in 2017 in Kaanapali. Not their first resort on Maui, Starwood’s renowned Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas will be right next door.
The plans for the Westin Nanea Ocean Villas includes 390 luxury villas, a 10,000 square foot tropical lagoon pool, and a beach bar.
A prime piece of real estate, Starwood Vacation Ownership plans on developing a new 26 acre time share resort on the oceanfront.
Starwood also has plans to convert the Sheraton Kauai into a timeshare as part of the spinoff transaction.
When it is all done there will be five timeshare resorts on Maui with Sheraton’s name (Westin too) on the door.
