Timeshare owners in the area of the Kennedy Space center in Cape Canaveral Florida may get a real treat if the mission gets off the pad as planned. The mission was scrubbed early this morning due to weather concerns. The reason was if there is a lightning strike within 10 miles of the pad rated a “Phase One” weather advisory they do not launch. “There were no technical reasons to scrub” it was also stated by a NASA spokesperson.

So NASA will try again tonight at 1:10 AM EST and because it is a night launch the sky will light up and it should be seen at timeshare resorts for miles around.  Might be a good thing to wake up and watch early Wednesday morning! From the Orlando Kissimmee area you could also take the 528 East towards the Atlantic Ocean and see it from there.

NASA has four opportunities between August 25 and August 30th for the Discovery launch. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and the space shuttle launch will occur early Wednesday morning.
